Diary week 2

This week I have started to do my analysis of media products and my own audience research. For the first task of analysing media products I have to analyse 5 front covers, 5 contents pages and 5 double page spreads. These magazines will be similar to what I want to do my magazine on as it will give me inspiration for what I will include in my own magazine. My audience research consists of creating a questionnaire to ask around 20 people in my target audience. I have decided I am also going to do a video interview with a group of people where I ask questions and they have a group discussion. This will make my work different and more imaginative and I will also get different ideas. I also created an initial ideas mind map which includes things like target audience, colour schemes, fonts and images however since I have just started the project my ideas will change, this is just a rough outline of ideas I have.

Preliminary Task Diary

Week 1:

This week we were starting our preliminary task so I began to do some research. On my first lesson I researched 5 school magazines and looked at the codes and conventions of school magazines. I then analysed the magazine covers and wrote up notes about each magazine, what I found and why I thought this was effective. I then created my blog and uploaded the images of each school magazine and uploaded my evaluation on them. Once this was done I created a paper plan of my own school magazine outlining what I was going to put on my front cover and contents page. Once this was done I used Photoshop to begin to create my school magazine, using all the codes and conventions I found from researching. I went out in lesson time using the camera and took photos for my front cover of students in my school to go in my magazine. Once I had created my magazine I used my blog to upload photos of my front cover and contents page.
